Among the methods for earning free cryptocurrency, in addition to Bitcoin and Altcoin faucets, mining, and GPT sites, there are also Airdrops and Bounties. The former can literally be translated from English as “rains of coins from the sky” and consist of free cryptocurrency distributions to users who are simply asked to register. Bounty campaigns are very similar to the Airdrops described above, particularly in their purpose of distributing cryptocurrency for free. The difference is that participants are required to complete more promotional tasks.

What Are Airdrops and Bounties? Why Do They Exist?

With Airdrops, once an initial registration phase has been completed, the tokens are distributed according to various criteria, such as the number of recipients, the time of signup, or ranking on forums such as Bitcointalk. With Bounties, on the other hand, recipients of the cryptocurrency distribution are required to complete additional tasks, such as joining social media channels, sharing promotional posts, or adding sponsored signatures to forums dedicated to digital currencies.

From the way they work, it is easy to see that cryptocurrency Airdrops and Bounty campaigns are essentially promotional tools designed to increase awareness of the token associated with a project and build a community of users around it.

These marketing tools are used primarily by developers of newly launched cryptocurrency projects to increase the popularity of their virtual currencies and build a transaction history.

A large number of Airdrops and Bounties involve Ethereum or Waves tokens, which are launched on the market primarily for speculative purposes and to generate quick profits by taking advantage of price fluctuations after the asset is launched.
Others, however, are an attempt to build a community around much more solid projects shortly before or in conjunction with an ICO.
