The Bitcore (BTX) Cryptocurrency
Bitcore is a cryptocurrency launched in April 2017 and derived from a copy (fork) of Bitcoin’s open-source project. It shares Bitcoin’s maximum supply of 21 million coins, as well as its Proof of Work-based transaction verification system. In other respects, Bitcore’s developers modified several features of BTC’s original source code, increasing the transaction block size to 10 MB and implementing SegWit technology. As a result, BTX satoshi transfers are significantly faster than Bitcoin transactions.
However, what brought this digital currency the most attention was its distribution method, which took place through generous airdrops and claiming for Bitcoin holders. Once this distribution phase ended, Bitcore naturally lost some of its value, as many holders chose to cash in on the airdrops they had received by selling them in large quantities. Nevertheless, its current market price remains fairly strong, indicating particular resilience for the cryptocurrency.
Recently, BitCore BTX introduced its first BEP-20 token, Swapped BitCore sBTX, based on the Binance Smart Chain BSC network. It also launched its own NFT Marketplace.
