The Peercoin (PPC) Cryptocurrency: The first PoS coin

Peercoin is one of the oldest digital currencies based on peer-to-peer blockchain technology in the cryptocurrency world, having been launched as early as 2012 by Scott Nadal and Sunny King (the latter also being the developer of Primecoin and V.System).
One of the many criticisms directed at Bitcoin concerns its high energy consumption due to mining based on Proof of Work. Peercoin therefore sought to overcome this problem by becoming the first cryptocurrency to use a hybrid algorithm, partly PoW and partly Proof of Stake (PoS), in a system that rewards not only miners but also users who simply hold the currency. This allows cryptocurrency minting without the excessive electricity consumption typical of Bitcoin, effectively making Peercoin a sustainable and environmentally conscious altcoin.
The major achievement of this currency was therefore being the first to introduce a new way of creating coins and securing the blockchain, namely Proof of Stake, making Peercoin a green alternative to Bitcoin.
How to mine Peercoin
Peercoins can be created in two ways: through mining or minting. The first is the traditional method, involving the download of mining software and use of your PC’s GPU, as well as joining a pool with which to share your hashrate.
Alternatively, it is possible to earn Peercoins simply by holding the currency in your wallet and staking. As described on the official website in the minting guide, minting this currency provides an annual return of 1%. To stake this crypto, simply download the official Peercoin-QT wallet and keep the wallet unlocked solely for minting.

Exchanges that trade Peercoin
Peercoin has been present in the cryptocurrency market for many years, with a fairly steady trend and periodic pump-and-dump cycles. In November 2017, its price experienced a significant increase, making this crypto particularly interesting for trading.
Among the many online markets that allow Peercoin to be traded for other cryptocurrencies or traditional FIAT currencies, there are several exchanges that stand out for offering many opportunities to profit from successful trades, including those listed below.
